1,2,3,4 I declare a bubble war

Well it's been a while since I was in here but this I just had to post.  I spent a wonderful morning with two wee girls aged 4 and 2 (hope I got the ages right) and we had a lot of fun playing bubbles and yes I got soaked because they both attacked me with their bubbles and I didn't have any.  Next time it will be different, I'm arming me too! We also read a story together, but the good stuff started when they were making cards using stickers.  They really enjoyed that.  The most successful activity seems to have been the cake decorating that they did.  The results are posted below and I promise you there are two very happy wee girls (who love candles) and one very satisfied adult (me?)

Well the ironing didn't get done - no surprise there.  However, on a more positive note I did do eight cards, that's not bad, I had set a target of 10 but ran out of time.  Oh, well only another 42 to make out of the 50 that have had be stumped for a long time.  My thanks to Bernie, Nikki and Donna - my muses for these cards.. All the cards are 14cm by 11cm and printed with different patterns. I haven't decided, as yet, what occasion these cards will be used for but I was bright and alert enough to leave space for that, at least that was the idea. Two of them I have made for the birth of a baby boy mainly because I found these lovely little embellishments. I'll try to do more tomorrow but I have a Princes cake to make and that crafting corner to sort out.  So please do give me feedback albeit good or bad, if I'm doing something horrendously wrong I would appreciate being told.  Someone who shall remain nameless, but I'm sure you'll all know who, has thrown down the gauntlet and I picked it up, so now I'm committed or maybe that should read that I should be committed *BIG SMILE*

Right, above are the four cards I made last night.  The three pyramage(?is that the correct terminology) are something I never had any intention of doing but when presented with a challenge, well, I just had to rise to it, didn't I? Not too sure if they're any good but at least I tried and went into untested waters, barefoot and unarmed, except for sticky pads and glue. Lost my courage on using the silicone glue but there will be a next time - maybe, so it was back to the faithful sticky pads.

I really have to get into the habit of blogging, never mind I'll get the hang of it sooner or later.  More cards to be posted here tomorrow, later today in fact.

Another two cards that I made, this one was hard because it was for a friend in America who passed away on Sunday.

The one above is for a little girl who has a wonderful sense of humour and a sharp mind.  When asked by a postman colleague of her Daddy's if she was going to be a postman when she grew up she replied 'Certainly not! I'm going to be a fairy!'  There's not a lot one can say after that.

Butterfly card

Well here it is, my first card in such a long time I'm embarrassed to admit exactly how long it has been.  This was made for a 2 year old who has just discovered the joys of butterflies, she calls them 'buttflies' and I fear that's exactly how they're going to remain.  The card, being embossed with buttflies just lent itself to being embellished with the three dimensional ones.  All comments are (good or bad) are welcome, I'm fairly new to this and anxious to extend my abilities although if a certain person in the Crafting Cafe has her way I'll be crafting like and expert in no time.

My First Blog

My very first Blog and I have no idea what to say except for the following.  This Blog is for crafting with the odd cake thrown in here and there for good measure.  Most of all it is in honour of a dear, departed friend who would have been *chair dancing* if she saw this, LA Banks, a fantastic author and a jolly good friend who always had your six even if you didn't know it. Leslie encouraged me to write a blog on the basis of emails that I sent her and she would be laughing her socks off now. Boy do I have a lot to 'craft up to', Leslie was a master of her craft and then there's Nikki (yes, it's you I'm talking about Nikki Smith) who is also a master of her chosen craft and not only passes on her knowledge but infects those she passes it one to. I've master the writing to the blog now I've just got to master the photographs, I'll get there though. Got two cards to post just as soon as I work out all the bells and whistles.
